Meet Ink Windows: who we are, why we started, and our love of fountain pens and the inks that bring them to life.

Born at a Desk, Fuelled by Passion.

Ink Windows is a low-key passion project born from a quiet corner of a room covered in ink swatches, paper scraps, nibs and fountain pens. This isn’t a corporate storefront or a grand business venture; it is simply a hobbyist and fan endeavor dedicated to the pure joy of putting pen to paper, to nib customisation and pen restoration.

Our journey started where it does for most fountain pen lovers: falling down the rabbit hole of beautiful, expressive inks, only to run into the very practical hurdles of budget, clutter, and the physical reality of collecting.

The Desk-Shelving-Closet-Space Problem

When first dabbling with pens and inks, it is incredibly easy to get overwhelmed. Seeing gorgeous online swatches of shimmering wonders, deep sheening tones, or delicate shading pastels is exciting β€” but trying them out usually means spending β‚Ή1,000 to β‚Ή3,000 on a single, massive bottle. One which then often sits on a shelf, taking up space, at risk of contamination when not stored properly.

But the barrier isn’t just financial. It’s a space and waste issue, too. Anyone who loves this hobby knows how quickly a collection takes over a home β€” glass bottles and fountain pen boxes jostling for room alongside books, board games, houseplants, and life souvenirs.

Buying a full 50ml bottle, filling a pen once, and realizing the shade isn’t right for your daily notebook leads to immense guilt. Ink Windows was started to fix this β€” offering a simple, humble space to try premium inks safely, slowly, and without the clutter.

Keeping the Hobby Alive

By providing high-end inks into small, affordable 5ml samples (and hopefully 2ml soon), the goal is to make exploration accessible to anyone who loves to write, without requiring you to sacrifice your entire living space to the ink gods.

To be completely candid, the dream here isn’t to build a retail empire. It is a kitchen-table effort. If this project generates just enough to help fund the next interesting bottle of ink to share, that is a win. It is entirely about keeping the love for the craft alive.

Hand Curated

Every sample is measured out by hand using clean syringes and secure, leak-proof vials tested to survive transit.

Zero Commitment Exploration

Try three different blues, test a wild shimmer, or find an everyday black β€” without the financial or physical pressure.
