About these terms
These terms apply to every order placed with Ink Windows and to your use of inkwindows.com. By placing an order, you agree to them, along with our Shipping & Returns Policy and Privacy Policy. We have written them in plain language so they are easy to follow.
Ink Windows is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. You must be 18 or older to place an order, or order with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Our samples
We sell small samples of fountain pen ink so you can try a colour before buying a full bottle.
Each sample is filled by hand from a genuine bottle bought from the manufacturer or an authorised seller. We use a clean syringe for every ink, and we never dilute or mix inks. The name on the label is the ink in the vial.
Sizes and prices are listed on each ink’s page. As samples are filled by hand, the volume may vary slightly from the listed size.
We do not sell full bottles. Where an ink page links to another shop under “Where to Buy”, that purchase is made directly with that shop.
Your personal information
We keep a record of your order and contact details to process, deliver and support your order. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle them.
Stock
Occasionally an ink may run out or a bottle may arrive damaged. If we cannot supply an ink you have paid for, we will contact you and offer either a replacement ink or a refund for that item.
Payment safety
We only request payment through details sent from our official WhatsApp number, +91 99001 74181. We will never ask for your card number, OTP or UPI PIN. If anyone does, please do not pay and let us know.
Cancellations
You may cancel your order for a full refund at any time before it is dispatched if stocks run out. After dispatch, our Shipping & Returns Policy applies.
Using your samples
Ink colour
Photos and swatches are a guide only. Paper, nib size and lighting all affect how an ink appears, which is why we offer samples. A difference in colour from what you saw on screen is not a defect.
Ink storage
Ink in a small vial does not keep as long as ink in its original bottle. Keep vials tightly closed, upright and away from sunlight and heat, and use them within about three months. Ink stored for longer may thicken or change colour.
Suitability for your pen
We describe each ink’s properties as accurately as we can, including shimmer, sheen, staining and ease of cleaning. However, the same ink can behave differently from one pen to another.
- Shimmer, pigmented, iron gall and highly saturated inks need more frequent cleaning. Shimmer inks work best in medium or broader nibs with good ink flow.
- Some inks can stain demonstrator pens, converters and older materials such as celluloid or ink sacs.
- The choice of ink for each pen is yours. We are responsible for supplying a sealed, correctly labelled sample of the ink you ordered. We are not responsible for clogged feeds, stained parts, or ink marks on furniture, clothing or paper.
Safety
Fountain pen ink is not safe to swallow. Keep it out of reach of children and pets, and rinse with water if it comes into contact with your skin or eyes.
Brand names
Diamine, Pilot, Iroshizuku, Sailor, J. Herbin, Monteverde and all other brand names on this site belong to their respective owners. Ink Windows buys and decants these inks independently. We are not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by any of these brands; their names are used only to identify the inks.
The reviews, swatches, photographs and text on this site are our own. You are welcome to link to them, but please ask our permission before reproducing them.
Nib services
When we tune or adjust nibs, at pen shows or by appointment, we will agree the work and the price with you beforehand. Older and vintage nibs can be delicate, and we will let you know before starting if a job carries any risk. We do not offer retipping.
Contacting us
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this site at the time of your payment applies to your order. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
